If you want to supress leading zeros and right-justify in the CONSNO field:

EvalR CONSNO = %TRIMR(%EDITC(Partner#: 'Z' ));

In this case, you need to use EvalR.

You could also use a data structure overlay like I used in this service
program (SETSIGN) which converts to character and places the sign on the
right or left as chosen.

EDTCDE(X) is offered up quickly and often for this common inquiry,
but generally without anyone ever having stated [what IMO is a *huge*]
caveat; i.e. that the X edit code is *not* /good/ for presentation of
negative values.

I would suggest instead, since the EDTWRD was enhanced specifically
to enable this type of output, one of:
EDTWRD('0 ') if no sign is desired
EDTWRD('0 -') if right negative sign is desired
EDTWRD('0- ') if left negative sign is desired.

CONSNO = %CHAR(Partner#);

Consno is 8A
Partner# 8S 0 and has a value of 00012345

When Statement CONSNO = %CHAR(Partner#); is executed the Value of
CONSNO
is 12345bbb (b=Blank)

How can I get the Value of CONSNO to = 00012345
