Since you are evidently not familiar with both methods, I'd suggest you learn DSM instead of the 5250 data stream specifications. FWIW, the last I knew the 5250 data stream documentation was in the 5494 Functions Reference Manual. You will need that as your close companion if you decide to pursue the UDDS route. However, I strongly encourage you to use DSM instead.
