generate a script of the display and then call an API to display the panel

This is outside of anything I've ever heard about panel groups with the possible exception of an application-formatted area (:APPFMT). But AFAIK, those don't allow input fields.
Or perhaps you mean that panel source is generated and then compiled just before being displayed?
