Setup two different printer descriptions/2 outq's - one with the WSCST, one without. I do this for some
lasers where i needed better drawer control.

No, AFAIK, a WSCST is attached to a printer.

OK - Using a *WSCST (workstation customization object) does allow me to

it
also move other prints from the 400 over to the left as well. Does anyone
know if there is a way to attach this change only to a spooled file or
something like that???

I've tried to change the FRONTMGN parameter on the PRTF. I've changed it
to
0,0. This puts the text right on the left margin of any printers default
margin. However it needs to go more to the left. Microsoft word can
print
farther to the left, so the printer is capable of such a print. I'm sure
word is using some type of printer driver. The only thing I have seen is
to
create a *WSCST object. Is or has anyone used this option?

Not sure if this is what you are looking for but you could try defining
the FRONTMGN and see if that will help....

Printer File Parameter Keywords Requiring PSF/400
The following shows printer file parameters and DDS keywords that affect
print formatting and handling. When used to print on IPDS printers, they
require PSF/400.
Printer File Parameters
AFP characters (AFPCHARS)
Back margin (BACKMGN)
Back overlay (BACKOVL
Coded font (CDEFNT)
Corner staple (CORNERSTPL)
Device type (*AFPDS, *LINE, *AFPDSLINE)
Edge stitch (EDGESTITCH)
Font character set (FNTCHRSET)
Font resolution (FNTRSL)
Front margin (FRONTMGN)
Form definition (FORMDF)
Front overlay (FRONTOVL)
IPDS pass through (IPDSPASTHR(*YES|*NO))
Multi-up (MULTIUP REDUCE(*NONE))
Output bin (OUTBIN)
Page definition (PAGDFN)
Saddle stitch (SADLSTITCH)
Table reference characters (TBLREFCHR)
User-defined data (USRDFNDTA (IPDSPASTHR(*YES|*NO))
User-defined data (USRDFNDTA(USRRCSLIBL (lib1 lib2 lib3 lib4))
User resource library list (USRRSCLLIBL)

Print left of margin

I need to be able to to print in a box on a form, that is only about an
1/8 of an inch from the left side of the paper. Using a PRTF and AFPDS
I can print that close to the edge on the right side of the paper but
not on the left side. Is there anything I can do on the PRTF compile or
something else on the 400 that can change the default settings of the
printer associated with the outq and allow for printing farther to the
left. The form is called a UB04 form and is coming out soon.
