I'm trying to figure out how I can read and write XML documents on an AS400 environment using RPG400, I'm a newbie about AS400 so I want to know if it's possible. OS: OS400 4.4
You're using a programming language (RPG/400) that hasn't seen any significant enhancements since 1993, long before people used XML for anything. IBM made it clear that they would not longer add new enhancements to the language in a 1994 announcement.
You're using a release of the operating system (V4R4) from 1999, and support for it stopped in 2001.
Unfortunately, this means that it's hard to even find out if there's anything available to help you! I can tell you that there are LOTS of solutions for handing XML documents in newer releases and with newer languages.
