If we're talking about SG24-5402-00, an initial search on the word "pointer" finds a lot of references to procedure pointers, but not so many to data pointers (and most of that in connection with things I'm already accustomed to, involving RPG calling C, rather than the other way around). But that was only a quick look before lunch; I'll be continuing shortly.

Alloc op code? But as I said, the space is already allocated in the calling module.
