Well pardon me for not finger pointing straight away, I did not say anyone in particular, meaning just "them". It refers to anyone who cannot be bothered to even LOOK at the problem properly, and it appears that the code was written out very clearly in this instance some days ago. I find your having to drag this into an argument a bit offensive too, what I said was meant to get people to try at least and fix the problem themselves before just jumping on here for the answer. -----Oorspronkelijk bericht----- Van: rpg400-l-bounces@xxxxxxxxxxxx [mailto:rpg400-l-bounces@xxxxxxxxxxxx]Namens AGlauser@xxxxxxxxxxxx Verzonden: vrijdag 18 augustus 2006 15:26 Aan: RPG programming on the AS400 / iSeries Onderwerp: RE: while exit from the dsply fiel its adding a blank record with 0'
I am not saying all of them, as there are (I have worked with quite a
few) some very good programmers from
there, <snip>
This was not at all clear from your original post.
however a lot of these questions that could be answered by a quick de-bug or just RTFM seem to come from there. IMHO of course.
I'm not entirely convinced that this is correct, and even if it is RTFM is a much less valid answer if the F'ing manual is not available in your native language. With just a quick look at http://publib.boulder.ibm.com/iseries/ it seems that the online documentation is not as easily available in either of the two most used Indian languages (Hindi and Telugu according to Wikipedia). I certainly agree that Koti Shiva has a habit of asking questions that could easily be answered by doing a bit of investigation, and I share the frustration of the other respondents with Koti's seeming inability to make a rudimentary investigation of the problem before asking for help. However, I think your generalization is somewhat unfair and frankly I found the original phrasing a bit offensive.
