The file is in the library list and is found (tried that). We are on V5R3
and should be up to date on PTFs.

Is there another error message telling you that EXTNAME NCMASTP is found?
Make sure that that library is in the library list.

Also what release are you compiling with?

I am working on a problem and I just can't see what is wrong. I am using
SQL
to get some data. I have the reciever variable defined as

     D gResultDs E DS ExtName(NCMASTP)

and the fetch statement is

     C/EXEC SQL
     C+ FETCH C1 INTO :gResultDS
     C/END-EXEC

When I compile the SQL precompiler tells me: "SQL0312 Position 24 Variable
GRESULTDS not defined or not usable." Now I know I have done this before
at
my previous job, but I am not sure what I am missing. This is driving me
nuts.

Any ideas? I assume it is something stupid I am doing....
