Tommy, While this certainly a valid concern, would it be so difficult to provide both a backward compatible version *and* a useful version? The only use I get out of the existing copybooks is to copy them into my own copy member, qualify the DS, and give the fields names that don't make my code next to illegible. Chances are this will not change anytime soon. You have to remember there are lots of folks who still aren't at a sufficient OS level to support qualified DS....
