What is it you people have against The Cycle?I've written cycle programs designed to run from terminal sessions. I've written interactive ones that used The Cycle (albeit without a Primary File) as an event-loop; yesterday, after a small omission in a data propagation program resulted in some unwanted propagation, I wrote not one, but THREE programs that used The Cycle, complete with a Primary File, to delete the unwanted records; if I remember right, I've even written janitorial Cycle programs that were fully interactive, AND had primary files.
Why bother coding in RPG at all, if you're not going to use all of its strengths? Why should your program have to walk through files, when it can take a ride on The Cycle?
