Then you're not compiling to V5.3.
Check your default on the TGTRLS parameter.
I compiled it and ran it on my 5.3 box and it worked perfectly.

Subject: RE: Date conversions

Hi Bob,

<snip>
V5.3?

How about this:

nDate = %Dec(%Date(szDate:*ISO0) : *EUR);
</snip>

This gives the same errors as Charles' solution:

*RNF0338 20 1 The third parameter for %DEC may not be omitted when
second parameter is specified.
*RNF0327 30 1 The first parameter for %DEC or %DECH is not valid.
*RNF0328 30 1 The second parameter for %DEC or %DECH is not valid.

Funnily, the guy sitting opposite me has a copy of your book (which he
loves), and suggested a very similar solution. At least you're consistent
Bob! :-)

Cheers
