It's rare that any RPG programmer won't run into a cycle program at least several times in his career. do the anti-cyclists or cycle-deprived rewrite them everytime they have to modify one?
The anti-cyclists still use the cycle. They just don't understand it. They think a genie appears, and sprinkles pixie dust on their programs to magically open and close their files, and magically stop the program when *INLR is on, and magically reinitialize their variables.
Actually, wouldn't it be pixies that have pixie dust?Anyway... they still use the cycle, they just don't think of it as the cycle when there isn't a primary file.
