Ken, I think we had a similar discussion on this list with in the last 4 months or so. Can we see the field definitions (including the DS if any) and the SQL statement? I know there is a situation where it truly matters how you define the fields to be used in the FETCH statement. The biggest issues came from FETCHING one record verse multiple. Here is the thread I was thinking about, it might be relevant. http://archive.midrange.com/rpg400-l/200507/msg00623.html Thank you, Matt Tyler WinCo Foods, LLC mattt@xxxxxxxxxxxxxx -----Original Message----- From: rpg400-l-bounces@xxxxxxxxxxxx [mailto:rpg400-l-bounces@xxxxxxxxxxxx] On Behalf Of Danforth, Ken Sent: Thursday, October 27, 2005 1:36 PM To: rpg400-l@xxxxxxxxxxxx Subject: Re: Embedded SQL in Free-Format RPG Thanks for the response, Jerry. I didn't lose the D specs. They are still there; it's just that the fields defined with the LIKE keyword don't seem to be resolved for the SQL pre-compiler. I.e., the part about the variables being defined in the D-specs in fixed format, but after using WDSc to convert to free-format they are not. Now, converting fixed to free I've done many times, and never lost a D-spec yet. The LIKE(field) has to be defined somewhere in the database or program, as you know. I cannot think of any reason why it would just "go away". Maybe some before and after snips of the pertinent code would help my aged mind. Thanks. * Jerry C.
