You can't use STRISDB for RPG IV programs.  With *STMT, you still use
the ILE debugger and the ILE debugger commands, but you don't see any
source.  I believe the *STMT view is sufficient for the distributed
debugger that comes with WDSc.

 

Aside from that, it might be useful to ship your programs to your
customers with *STMT so that the customers would be unable to see your
source, but that you debug the customer's programs remotely while you
are looking at a compiler listing.
