This is a trick I often use to add 'Excel output' to an iSeries report, 
without the use of Java (still learning). You create an HTML file, usually 
with one or more <TABLE> s, and name the HTML file with a .xls extension. I 
then STRPCO, and STRPCCMD the file from the IFS, and voila. The user sees 
green screen one second, and Excel the next.
