When you create the dspf, specify DFRWRT(*NO). Without this, the data isn't displayed on a display file until you do a READ (which, it sounds like you aren't doing). Another idea is, sometimes there are multiple 'stages' a program goes through while the user is waiting. For this purpose, I create a display format with a single long alpha field. This way, you can EVAL the appropriate 'waiting' message to the buffer, and tell the user what they are waiting for more specifically. On 7/26/05, Douglas W.
