James, >Thus if the host could send the attributes "blue, column > separators, blink, underline, reverse image" x5250 could display it. Using WEA orders (Write Extended Attribute) in the 5250 data stream, I think it probably could. But I don't recall all the details on WEA, and I can't find a copy of the 5494 Functions Reference manual online anywhere in a quick search. I do remember you can set the color of each individual display byte, even within a field, without consuming display positions. I don't remember if attributes like blink or underline were part of WEA, but I suspect they were. Alas, when IBM enhanced the 5250 data stream, certain of the features were never exposed via DDS so they are very rarely utilized. WEA is one of those. User of mulators which don't properly support WEA and other features not available directly from DDS would probably not know the difference. Doug
