The best way I've found to increase SQL performance in to use the create
index command to build access paths over the tables you are selecting. To
have SQL tell you which access path to create, run your select in debug mode
and then look at your job log to see which field(s) the optimizer used to
access your data.

Subject: Performance of SQL

I want to improve the performance of my program which uses Interactive
SQL. I am at present using 'SELECT' statements. Will Cursor or Fetch
increase the response time?
