There probably is a solution, but my brain is sleepy today. I would wrap the 'open' in a real subprocedure named something like "ifsopen" and just call "ifsopen" that way you can change the implementation and not worry about it going directly to the service program where "open" lives. This is often called a 'stub' procedure. -Bob -----Original Message----- From: rpg400-l-bounces@xxxxxxxxxxxx [mailto:rpg400-l-bounces@xxxxxxxxxxxx] On Behalf Of Anton Gombkötö Sent: Friday, April 02, 2004 1:14 AM To: RPG400-L@xxxxxxxxxxxx Subject: Quick question about replacing a function in serviceprogram Hi folks, we do have the following prototyping for our major service program, the following is the first function: DIFSOpen pr 10i 0 extproc('open') Descriptor D * value Filename D 10i 0 value Access Mode D 10i 0 value options(*nopass) Mode D 10i 0 value options(*nopass) CodePage we do face the problem that we casually receive returncode 3029=resource busy when we try to create a file in the IFS. The solution seems to be to wait a bit and try again. So we need to capsule the 'open' which is from QC2LE binder directory. Is it possible to replace the above "IfsOpen" by an - from parameter's point of view - identical function in our service program? And deliver only the service program to production? Or has the compiler already set the track to the real open and i do not have any chance to re-route that; and we do have to deliver all programs using IfsOpen? Thanks in advance! -- Mit freundlichen Grüssen / best regards Anton Gombkötö Organisation und Projektleitung Avenum Technologie GmbH Wien - Salzburg - Stuttgart http://www.avenum.com _______________________________________________ This is the RPG programming on the AS400 / iSeries (RPG400-L) mailing list To post a message email: RPG400-L@xxxxxxxxxxxx To subscribe, unsubscribe, or change list options, visit: http://lists.midrange.com/mailman/listinfo/rpg400-l or email: RPG400-L-request@xxxxxxxxxxxx Before posting, please take a moment to review the archives at http://archive.midrange.com/rpg400-l.
