RE: RPG IV release levels and complexity

I couldn't say for certain why the decision was made.  We were a huge
company back then and I think there were plans to move the software to
another AS/400 or maybe replace it with the software we were using for most
of the company.  

Then, of course, the house of cards came tumbling down on us and we were
stuck with this box until the lease is up, which occurs around March or
April of next year along with leases on two other systems I'm told.  The
termination of those leases is apparently going to allow us to lease an 810.

Why didn't you get software subscription when it first came out?  They were
cutting some good deals then.

Perhaps if you wrapped this up in a lease it would be easier to swallow.
