Generally, in Sys/36 Land, G means "Go." It ignores the error and the job completes normally (if bad data can be considered normal). It is entirely possible that the error is understood and can be ignored without consequences. --------------------------------------------------------- Booth Martin http://www.MartinVT.com Booth@xxxxxxxxxxxx --------------------------------------------------------- -------Original Message------- From: RPG programming on the AS400 / iSeries Date: Monday, October 27, 2003 10:34:01 AM To: rpg400-l@xxxxxxxxxxxx Subject: Re: error# MCH1210 > why he is advising to take first 'D' and then after 'G'.... The 'D' produces a spooled file which contains all the program variables, file and indicator states for the program. This is called a formatted program dump. Having the dump available will help the programmer determine what variables were too small, because he can examine each variable in the failing expression by looking at the spooled file. The 'G' option depends entirely on what the programs involved are doing. There is no way to guess why he advises a 'G' - perhpas the best answer is to ask the IT person? --buck
