This is called a formatted program dump. Having the dump available will help the programmer determine what variables were too small, because he can examine each variable in the failing expression by looking at the spooled file. The 'G' option depends entirely on what the programs involved are doing. There is no way to guess why he advises a 'G' - perhpas the best answer is to ask the IT person? --buck
