Eric,

nope, the file was a normal disk file.

The first one I tried was quite big (35000+ records), so I tried with a
smaller one (21 records) and got the same result.

                                                         ifs.......  It
                                                         seems IBM wrote
                                                         these CPYTOSTMF
                                                         and
                                                         CPYTOIMPF using
                                                         CLI stored
                                                         procedures. The
                                                         problem is, SQL
                                                         won't catalog
                                                         objects in QTEMP
                                                         and these procs
                                                         blow up when they
                                                         can't find an
                                                         alias to
                                                         the file in the
                                                         SQL catalog.  I
                                                         think this had a
                                                         PTF....
