Except that they'd have to define the interface to the new-mi compiler. I'm not aware that they've done that. -Walden ------------ Walden H Leverich III President Tech Software (516) 627-3800 x11 (208) 692-3308 eFax WaldenL@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx http://www.TechSoftInc.com Quiquid latine dictum sit altum viditur. As long as IBM is able to get the sale on a required base websphere, I dont see why open sourcing RPG would negatively affect IBM at all. Are you speaking of OPM or ILE RPG? IF there was a demand for it you could right a 3rd party OPM compiler now, no? Afterall, isn't the RPG compiler just a translater into MI? Could you not simply do your own translation into MI? I know I've made RPG programs recursize by removing the recursion check and then compiling the MI. In the case of New-MI (ILE stuff) I'm not aware of the same level of openess that exists for old MI... Too bad. -Walden ------------ Walden H Leverich III President Tech Software (516) 627-3800 x11 (208) 692-3308 eFax WaldenL@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx http://www.TechSoftInc.com Quiquid latine dictum sit altum viditur.
