In addition to Scott's excellent advice, you can press F10 to step through
the program:

strdbg pmst83r updprod(*yes)
(see source)
F10
(back to command line)
call pmst83r

The program should stop on the first list of the program.  If it doesn't,
I'd start looking at PTFs.
