He wasn't referring to device size or cursor position, he meant the row / column of every field is available via the API. This allows you, once you write the service program wrapper, to determine field coordinates at runtime and position the cursor without using any indicators. Combined with display attribute program fields, you can all but eliminate the use of indicators except for things like subfile control keywords. The api is somewhat complex though, as far as api's go. Various routines have appeared over the years for getting sfl size & page and field location data. Doug
