Tom,
If you know that SFLSIZ = SFLPAG then you just perform an initial loop that
writes to the subfile until the write fails since the subfile will only
permit one page of records to be written.

Dan:

Yep, you got it it. Although I can handle the API okay, I was just hoping
someone knew some details of an INFDS or an obscure DDS or F-spec keyword that
would bring the info into the program. It just seems that an external file
description should make this available.

I'm looking at an existing program that has some 'Position to...' logic for a
subfile. It relies on a literal value for subfile lines per page. I made
changes to the DDS that reduced the subfile lines by one per page and need to
make the corresponding change in the program before recompiling.

It shouldn't be necessary. I should be able to recompile with no program code
change and 'Position to...' should still work, if the program is written
correctly in the first place.

It looks like the API is the only choice.
