Dan: Yep, you got it it. Although I can handle the API okay, I was just hoping someone knew some details of an INFDS or an obscure DDS or F-spec keyword that would bring the info into the program. It just seems that an external file description should make this available. I'm looking at an existing program that has some 'Position to...' logic for a subfile. It relies on a literal value for subfile lines per page. I made changes to the DDS that reduced the subfile lines by one per page and need to make the corresponding change in the program before recompiling. It shouldn't be necessary. I should be able to recompile with no program code change and 'Position to...' should still work, if the program is written correctly in the first place. It looks like the API is the only choice.
