In the system side of the world, very little data lives in files.

Looking at many dumps, comparing them to different user's profiles, the MI
Reference manual (for the MI instructions)

In general, system exploration outside of published APIs is not documented
anywhere except in the notebooks of those poking around.  Any time you see
MI, you'll be writing a notebook of your own.
