Yes.

It's the only way I'm aware of to make a variable a named pointer, using the 
*LIKE DEFN.

You can't use it, defined this way, as a result of an opcode that wants an 
indicator, of course, and it isn't seen across programs (You can't set it in 
your program and except your display file to see it) but it makes a good 
Boolean operator.
