It is the DFILE-YES parameter on the FILE OCL statement which make a file delete capable. DFILE-NO would prevent deletions. The BLDFILE procedure supports the DFILE and NDFILE parameters. Both of these are equivalent to the ALWDLT(*YES) parameter on the CRTF command. In addition, the CRTF command supports the ALWUPD parameter which, if set to *NO, prevents records from being updated.
