Nope. Already had that. As mentioned in the first post, the file in question does not allow deletes. I should have phrased the question better. What I was really after was whether S/36 files were typically not delete-capable. Memory seems to serve that one would typically use a one-character status field, change a record's status to 'D' or 'X' when it became "deleted", and those records were not included in a reorg at some future date. I was going to surmise that S/36 RPG-II did not allow a program to delete records from a file, but then RPG-II has always had the DEL option on the O-spec, hasn't it? P.S. I solved the problem by just putting the delete status on the records I was trying to delete, so they'll be purged at the end of the month. Thanks!
