As you're loading a MODS, I would imagine that you're keeping count of the number of occurrences, assuming you're loading it in sequence starting at occurrence #1. When you want to "clear" your MODS, just set your counter back to zero. As long as you know your highest occurrence, you shouldn't really care about the contents in the occurrences past your current highest occurrence.
