That's why we call them "Aggravation Groups".

CALLP can be used to call a program when EXTPGM is specified on the
Prototype.

Can CALLP be used when DFTACTGRP(*YES) is specified? Of hand, I don't
really know, as I don't do that kind of thing. But checking it would be
pretty easy.

What about if ACTGRP(*CALLER) is used and the caller is an OPM program
or an RPG IV programming running in the default activation group?  Yes
that is legal, but it is neither endorsed nor frowned upon. When the
book was written, that particular loophole was a relatively new
discovery. So it does seem to work, so if you're only doing program
calls or procedure calls and those procedures do not do dynamic memory
allocation or overrides which depend on the activation group override
working, then have at it.
