More than likely I don't know enough about the CHGPF command. The way I understand it (and the way my last corporation taught it) - if you want to change a PF, in order to recompile it you have to move the data out and delete all the logicals. Then you move the data back, re-compile all the LFs. Then you have to recompile all the programs that refer to any of those files (not necessarily in that order). We had several PFs with more than a hundred LFs and it became verbotten to do a physical file change because of the danger of missing something. If there is a better way then I would love to learn it although I don't have the same problem at this job, but I hope you can see why I hold that opinion. Joel R.
