I am starting to see Barb's point. Which application would have you doing the following? MOVEA arr1(n) arr2(m) I used option 25 in SEU to scan one of my libraries for the use of MOVEA. Every use was a string manipulation in which I may have done differently starting from scratch in RPGLE. The other program I found it in was written by someone who refuses to use /COPY for fear they might have 1 defined variable in which they may not use, and, by the way, how much respect can you have for code that looks like: C SendTo IfEq AllInGroup C SendTo OrEq SupersOnly C EMDCls AndEq Supervisor C SendTo OrEq UsersOnly C EMDCls AndEq User C SendTo OrEq JobUser C EMDUsr AndEq JobUserID Although they do exceed 6 characters in variable names - I'll give them that. Simple easy to read code, that hides the complexities of the task at hand so that the meaning of the "application code" will not be obscured by coding gymnastics. Hmmm. Sounds almost like some of the same reasons for Subprocedures.
