Serving data to a web page via Websphere

We are not using Websphere, but we are planning to sometime down the road.
For now, we are trying to build our applications so that they are modular
and will, hopefully, be able to serve the web world as well as the 5250
world.

We're using, what we call, a subfile server program to gather the data to be
displayed on the subfile.  The 'driver' or controller program just handles
screen functions - it doesn't contain any database files.

An MODS is being used to pass the subfile data back and forth between the
controller and the server programs.  What is the best way to define the
fields for the MODS?  Should we just define them individually in a /copy or
should we create a physical file that contains all of the screen fields.
What would work best when using websphere?  Or, maybe websphere so
different, we wouldn't be able to use what we have right now anyway.

BTW, our exposure to websphere has been thru news articles and a visit with
some IBM guys.  So, all we know is that it's 'going to be great and it'll do
a lot for us', but we don't know any details about how great it is, or what
it will actually 'do' for us.
