Jade,

What are your apps written in now?  If it's RPG, Cobol, Net.Data, then
Websphere will do almost nothing for you except slow down your machine.  :)

Websphere is mainly used to run JSP and Servlets (java).  Not RPG, Cobol or
Net.Data.  It can server static HTML, but the HTTP server already does a
bang up job with that.

I suggest you join the mailing list on Ignite400.org or at least search
their mailing list archives on websphere.  There are a bunch of us on there
that have used it and found it not up to par, mainly in the performance
arena.  Also, if you're not running any Java apps for the web, Websphere
will do nothing for you.
