Specific to your mention of wanting to add a CPYSPLF option to WRKSPLF... As it happens, I have a WRKSPLF lookalike (in UIM) that was authored by Mike Cravitz; I thought it was published by News400 eons ago, but the source he gave me has no references to News400. Plus a search on the AS400 Network site turned up nothing. I modified two options to use CPYSPLF as well as a home-grown PRTRNGSPLF (Print Page Range Spool File), both of which pre-fill the spool file name info into the command prompts. I have CC'd this post to Mike to ask his permission to share his LSTSPLF utility. BTW, in searching for the LSTSPLF utility on the AS400 Network site, I found what look to be several good references on using UIM. Note that most require membership. (Whatever is said in Latin seems profound.) -------------------------- Original Message -------------------------- Simon, Have always wondered if the following is possible: We know that PDM allows us to create options etc. Will it not be great if we can add more options to existing IBM panels - like WRKSPLF? I for one, would like to create such options like CPYSPLF, or other options to archive etc. for example. Will it be possible to explore this option in panels that will be created by users ? Predefined options numbers can be provided ofcourse...Or is the whole thing too much to ask from UIM? just curious. Hello All, Since there seems to be a reasonable interest in a UIM guide I shall try to create one in what little spare time I have. I think an e-Book format is probably the best approach but I will listen to those who desire a printed copy. I suspect a properly published book (a la Duke Press and Midrange Computing) will take so much of the price in "costs" as to make it untenable although I'm open to approaches from publishers. I intend the book to start with the simple stuff (menus, help text, etc) and move on to the really useful stuff (input screens, scrolling, conditioned displays, and work-with panels, etc). All code examples will be in RPG IV with additional examples in C, and ILE/COBOL. Regards, Simon Coulter. «»«»«»«»«»«»«»«»«»«»«»«»«»«»«»«»«»«»«»«»«»«»«»«»«»«»«»«»«»«»«»«»«»«» «» FlyByNight Software AS/400 Technical Specialists «» «» Eclipse the competition - run your business on an IBM AS/400. «» «» «» «» Phone: +61 3 9419 0175 Mobile: +61 0411 091 400 /"\ «» «» Fax: +61 3 9419 0175 mailto: shc@flybynight.com.au \ / «» «» X «» «» ASCII Ribbon campaign against HTML E-Mail / \ «» «»«»«»«»«»«»«»«»«»«»«»«»«»«»«»«»«»«»«»«»«»«»«»«»«»«»«»«»«»«»«»«»«»«» +--- | This is the RPG/400 Mailing List! | To submit a new message, send your mail to RPG400-L@midrange.com. | To subscribe to this list send email to RPG400-L-SUB@midrange.com. | To unsubscribe from this list send email to RPG400-L-UNSUB@midrange.com. | Questions should be directed to the list owner/operator: david@midrange.com +---
