Save your spreadsheet to the IFS with the csv attributes, and then run the cpyfrmimpf to copy the delimited file into an as/400 pf.

My question regarding downloading a file to the PC is:
Can you automate the client access button so no user has to click it to
begin the process?
Either in RPG or CL?

Frank,
There are several ways, one of the neatest, in my opinion, is the
new
database file creation wizard within the file transfer feature of Client
Access Express (latest version) and even simpler add-in for Excel in the
current Beta version. Simply click on the upload button from within your
Excel spreadsheet, fill in the requested information:
Does your data have column headings in the first row?
Name of trnasfer file if you want to save it.
Library and Name of database file.
etc.
- then the file is created, and data is transfered.
I used it just this morning to upload data from one of our customers, a
large retailer, to verify their data (store addresses) against our database.
Works like a charm. If you need more details - don't hesitate. If you have
Client access express - experiment.

Someone I'm working with is trying to use data from an excel spreadsheet on
the AS400. If anyone knows of a way to do this please let me know.
TIA
Frank
