Since you are asking this on the RPG list and not the midrange list I
assume that you are trying to access the file using RPG right?

If so, have you looked at the tips given for accessing files in the IFS
using RPG?  Some of these tips are in the Redbook 'Who Knew you could do
that with RPG...'.  Another source for tips is sample programs.  You might
want to search the archives for SAMPLE and IFS.  I've seen some examples in
the code SNDEMAIL also.  As far as getting the layout of the excel
spreadsheet - whew!  You might be better off transitioning using a comma
separated variable file as a go between.

Someone I'm working with is trying to use data from an excel spreadsheet on
the AS400.  If anyone knows of a way to do this please let me know.
