Jim, looking at the API reference manual, I see that at least some of the procedures specify the service program name, just above the Threadsafe: entry. If a service program is mentioned, it is a procedure, and your program will have to be bound to that service program. Rough rule of thumb: APIs that have shortish names that look like OS/400 object names are generally programs (the notable exception being the CEE* APIs). And you always have the WRKPGM command for a quick check.
