This defies the whole idea of copybooks. Royal PITA, isn't it? Here's what I did. 1) I converted the copybook to RPGLE. 2) Then I went into the RPT source and commented out all the /COPY lines. I also changed the source type to RPG. 3) I converted the program in question to RPGLE. 4) Went back into the program and uncommented the /COPY lines and determined if there were any other problems. 5) Compile and test. If the copybooks have a mixture of specs (F&I, or C&O, for example), you have to split up the copybook. At least I did on V3R2 because there was (is) no conditional /COPY. I also did not use the IBM command to convert the RPG III source, I used a CVTRPGLE utility from Butcher Enterprises. It did much more than the IBM command. I still have a few RPGIII programs around, mostly because they haven't needed touched in 5+ years. HTH. -- -Jeff The opinions expressed are my own and not necessarily the opinion of my company.
