When you have a "few gaps" in a data structure there are a few ways to deal with it. If you are giving the entire data structure lenght in the DS specs you can just ignore those fields. D MyStruct DS 80 D 1 70 SomeField If you are not giving the data structure lenght, just use filler fields. D DS D 1 70 SomeField D 71 80 Filler1 Personally, I like useing Fillers because then I know the programmer didn't forget something, also, then I don't have to give start and end positions and can just use field lengths.
