Eh, Jim, what version of RPG-III were you "smoking"?  Variable names are
limited to six characters in RPG-III.  External variable names defined in
DDS are limited to 10 characters and, thus, RPG-IV allows all ten
characters.  File and record names were limited to 8 characters in RPG-III,
but you can use all 10 in RPG-IV.

But you knew that, already, didn't you Jim? <g>
