I say again. Use FTP from the 400 to start a batch file on the NT box. Test this out interactively. Do the following. I) From your 400 do the following from a command line A) ping nameofpc 1) If it works go to B) 2) If it doesn't work a) If command not found, load TCP/IP on 400, configure and everything. b) If location not found then verify DNS and PC name B) ftp nameofpc 1) If it works go to C) 2) If it doesn't work a) Load ftp server on NT that comes free with NT C) quote rcmd drive:\directory\batchfilename.bat II) Once you get this tested out interactively, do it in a program. Contact again for further details. But, really this isn't an RPG issue, and you're kinda on the wrong list. Subscribe to midrange-l also. One of the reasons why I would like to initiate the process from the AS400 is that we have scheduled as well as interactive jobs on the AS400 from which we would like to transfer data to the NT Server and at the same time run the Server update via batch (.BAT) file initiated from the AS400. This means that the transfer and update will not take place if the job on the AS400 aborts abnormally. Thanks for your help so far and please let me know if you need any more information. > Date: Thu, 25 May 2000 11:08:08 -0500 > From: Rob Berendt <rob@dekko.com> > Subject: Re: "RUNRMTCMD" on NT Server > > Load up the freebie FTP server that comes with NT. > Then use a CLP to pipe some FTP subcommands.
