Load up the freebie FTP server that comes with NT. Then use a CLP to pipe some FTP subcommands. I think you are looking for quote rcmd. If you have further questions, please ask. mullerj@nabiscosa.co.za on 05/25/2000 09:42:08 AM Please respond to RPG400-L@midrange.com@Internet To: RPG400-L@midrange.com@Internet cc: Fax to: Subject: "RUNRMTCMD" on NT Server I need to initiate a batch job (.BAT) on our NT Server from a CL program on the AS400. When running a remote command from the AS400 to a PC with Win9x and Client Access (4.3 & 4.4) the batch job runs perfectly. My problem is that I cannot do the same on our NT Server. The error message produced is the same as for a workstation when a user has not been granted remote access or when the deamon has not been started ("Required user id is either missing or invalid."). I have noticed the following differences between Client Access on the PC and the NT Server - 1. When running "cwbrxd" on the workstation the deamon will start and then wait for incoming commands to process. On the server you will be returned to the prompt after a while. Does this mean that the deamon is not running? Is there another command that must be run for NT Server instead of "cwbrxd"? 2. There is a Client Access Remote Command service running on the server. What is this service for? Is it not maybe the "replacement" for CWBRXD? 3. On the Client Access Properties screen there is a "Incoming Remote Command" (from where you can authorize system/user access) tab on the PC. This tab does not appear on the Client Access Properties screen on the server. Where do I authorize my AS400 or a user access to execute remote commands on the NT Server? Is it at all possible to run remote commands on a NT SERVER from the AS400? Is there any other way to execute a batch job on the SERVER from the AS400 other than using RUNRMTCMD? Any help would be greatly appreciated.
