Anton, The reason for the line splitting being there might be that the example program that IBM supplies in one of the manuals does just that. I have been dabbling with it as well, but found the interface too cumbersome to be really useful. I'll save the message and maybe sometimes i'll use it, either when i need it or when i have time (<g>). This must be Njal Fisketjon (or so), who is on news://comp.sys.ibm.as400.misc (too?). (The line splitting thing was in FSEDIT too (^ per default). Maybe the rumours that a big customer wanted such a functionality are true?? Hans Boldt told us already a tiny bit about the 4096 bytes for a "name" in RPG... I become a believer... :-) No reason to leave the list. One nowadays just can't do everything that OS/400 with all licpgm's installed is capable of. This thing happend to us like it happened to those living after Leonardo da Vinci, who is called to be the last universal genius, a single person that knew everything that was to know at that time. So this mailing list/newsgroup thing is quite valuable as it easily shows where you stand and what you are/were missing on your path! And the direct contact with all of you (OK, nearly all :-) is simply great!
