Dan, thanks for the link! I'll save the message and maybe sometimes i'll use it, either when i need it or when i have time (<g>). This must be Njal Fisketjon (or so), who is on news://comp.sys.ibm.as400.misc (too?). (The line splitting thing was in FSEDIT too (^ per default). Maybe the rumours that a big customer wanted such a functionality are true?? Hans Boldt told us already a tiny bit about the 4096 bytes for a "name" in RPG... I become a believer... :-) No reason to leave the list. One nowadays just can't do everything that OS/400 with all licpgm's installed is capable of. This thing happend to us like it happened to those living after Leonardo da Vinci, who is called to be the last universal genius, a single person that knew everything that was to know at that time. So this mailing list/newsgroup thing is quite valuable as it easily shows where you stand and what you are/were missing on your path! And the direct contact with all of you (OK, nearly all :-) is simply great! Thanks (to all)! -- Anton Gombkötö -----Ursprüngliche Nachricht----- Von: "Bale, Dan" <DBale@lear.com> An: <RPG400-L@midrange.com> Gesendet: Dienstag, 18. POP, IBM's inadvertant attempt to make felons out of 95% of the S/36 programmer community <g> SEU exit programs: Believe it or not, I found an SEU exit program on somebody's website. Let me see if I can dig it up... Ah, yes, here it is: http://www.robin.no/~nfisketj/index.htm I was unable to spend enough time with it to get it in a working state. I had emailed the author about this and he replied: I put a warning on the SEU exit program page stating that the source is incomplete. The reason for this is that my complete programs uses extra files, and has extra functionality that has very limitied interest to others. I guess those interested would manage to get it working... If I remember correctly, the one function he did that caught my attention was the ability to "split" a source line into two lines, splitting it by positioning the cursor and pressing a function key. It was my intent to get this working and ask the author for permission to put it in the public domain. But I probably won't have the time required to do that for quite awhile (gee, maybe if I stayed off the mailing list...) > -----Original Message----- > From: Anton Gombkötö [SMTP:Gombkoetoe@ASsoft.com] > Sent: Tuesday, April 18, 2000 3:38 PM > To: RPG400-L@midrange.com > Subject: Editors on a programmable WS, SEU exit program WAS: Re: > Small subroutines WAS:RPG Indicators > > > Someday we'll look back on AS/400's SEU like we do now with S/34-S/36 > SEU. > > Remember?
