I write to a work file the keys of the orphan, and the name of the file.(I use 2 programs both have MR logic, one for the Master v Detail the other for the Detail V Invoice Detail) I have a program that generates a report from the work file. I then have a clean up program that reads the work file (using CHAIN) and writes the rocords to the error file (using WRITE) and delete the records from the problem file (using DELETE). I then clear the clean-up file. I can manually add data to the clean up file if needed. "James W.
